Nordic Bees is a Lithuanian honey brand by MB Lakštena, based in Juodupė, Lithuania. The brand offers classic, gourmet and organic honeys and honey spoons, and every product has its own page in the product range.
It stands on a family tradition of beekeeping, honey sold first at local markets and now exported to other European countries, and a plain promise for its honeys without added ingredients: 100% natural honey, nothing added.
Eighty years ago my grandfather began keeping bees with just three hives. With each generation our dedication to the craft has grown. My father expanded the apiary and founded the "9 Honeys" company. Today we run an industrial-scale apiary and a honey manufacturing company. That history of passion and heritage still shapes who we are.
What began as a simple hobby, enjoying the small, sweet gifts of nature, grew into a deep affection for bees. We kept more bee colonies and harvested more golden honey. We wanted to share it, so we started at local markets, where people welcomed our honey. Encouraged by that response, we began exporting to other European countries. Our next ambition is to bring our natural honey to people beyond Europe.
Our apiary spans several locations, and each gives the honey its own character. This lets us offer honey collected from a variety of plants in different areas. We look after our bee colonies in each place, and the honey carries the flavours and aromas of its surroundings. Each honey reflects the plants and landscape the bees call home.
