What you taste
Sweetness first, then the earthy, slightly mineral note beetroot brings, which keeps the sweetness from feeling flat. It is the most savoury of the spoons, so it pairs well with cheese and dark bread.
Beetroot likes tangy dairy and salty cheese. Goat's cheese, feta and cream cheese all suit it, and so does a slice of dark rye.
Why a spoon
The idea is simple: a measured spoonful of honey that you can use anywhere, without opening a jar. It sits easily in a bag, beside a teacup or on a cheese board.
Questions
Is it the same as a jar of honey?
No. It is honey blended with beetroot, so it tastes of both. For honey on its own, try meadow honey.
Will it make my tea taste of beetroot?
A little. Beetroot adds an earthy undertone, so it suits strong black tea better than delicate green tea.
Does it come in other flavours?
Yes: mint and lemon and cacao and raspberry, and a mix.
Keeping it
